Bryn Mawr (MD) junior midfielder Julie Blaze has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Vanderbilt University.

Julie Blaze ledger:

Julie Blaze
Julie Blaze

High School: Bryn Mawr School, MD

Graduation Year: 2015

Position:
Midfield

College Choice:
Vanderbilt University

Club Affiliation: Diamonds Lacrosse Club

Major lacrosse honors: Baltimore Metro Team

Academic honors:
Honor Roll, Scholar Athlete award

What will you major in/study? Nursing

Why did you choose the school?
“I choose Vanderbilt because, academically, it was the perfect school for me, and I felt very comfortable with Coach (Cathy) Swezey and Coach (Susan) Ellis. Vanderbilt will also give me the opportunity to play against the top college teams in the country.”

What are your thoughts on this past HS lacrosse season/team’s outlook for next season? “This past season was a great experience playing for Coach Kridel and Coach Simons. Loosing to St. Paul’s in the semifinals was disappointing, but we had a great year. This upcoming spring will be challenging because we lost a large senior class, but we still have a strong incoming sophomore, junior, and senior class, and our goal will be to win the IAAM championship.”

Thank You: “I want to thank Coach Kridel and Coach Simons for pushing me and for all their guidance and help. Thank you also to my club coaches, Coach Hanson and Coach Monica Yeakel. Thanks to my parents for always being there and helping me with lacrosse. And a big shout out to my older brother Hil for inspiring me to work as hard as he did and become successful on the lacrosse field.”
