Brewster Academy (N.H.) junior goalie Elise Hennessey has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of North Carolina.

Academic honors: Two time Cum Laude Recipient and four time Magna Cum Laude Recipient
What will you major in/study? Undecided
Why did you choose the school? “I chose North Carolina because it is one of the best public universities in the country. Carolina also has one of the best coaching staffs out there as well. Nothing gets much better than being named the 2013 National Champions.”
What is your team’s outlook for next season? “This past year we were Co-Champions with one of our rivals, New Hampton, so I would say we are looking to get the Championship banner for ourselves this year.”
Thank You: “I would first like to thank my parents for always supporting me in whatever I do. They have always been on the sidelines of every single one of my games, practices, and tournaments cheering me on. I would like to thank my brother and sister for always being strong for me when I needed them the most. Secondly, I would like to thank all of the coaches I have ever had. Coach Derhak, thank you for being such a big influence on me when I was younger allowing me to play boys’ lacrosse and developing the roots of the player I am today. Coach Holly and Tracey thank you for helping me out the most with my recruiting process; I wouldn’t be here without you guys. Coach Lawlor and Mr. Garnsey, thank for believing in me even before I was a freshman and giving me the privilege to be a Bobcat. Lastly, thank you to Coach Levy, Barnes, and Dowd for allowing me the opportunity to wear baby blue and become a Tar Heel.”
