The McCallie School (TN) junior midfielder Braiden Davis has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Vermont.

Lacrosse honors: Top 205 All Star Team, Southern Showcase All Star Team. 2012 Canadian Box National Champion, Canadian MVP

Intended major: Business or Medical Science

Why did you choose school? “I loved the campus when I visited. Coach (Ryan) Curtis, Coach (Patrick) March Jr. and Coach (Mike) Kruger are all great guys and great coaches. The lacrosse team is full of great players and great guys. I like the fast tempo which the coaches and team play. Good competition as well. Burlington, Vermont is an amazing town, a lot like Orangeville, where I am from.”

HS team’s outlook for 2014: McCallie will be very good again this season. We have gotten some new good middies and a face off guy. Our goal tending (Tate Boyce) will again be great. I believe he is the best goalie in the country. Our defense will again be run by (coach) Ryne Linsley and we will be top notch on the defensive end. The offense will be very powerful and have great execution. I believe that with this group of guys, we can win states and bring the championship back to McCallie. I am expecting a championship.”
