FINAL: Carmel HS (IN) 14 Sacred Heart Academy (KY) 6

3/5/2024 (Louisville, KY) – It was a great day in Louisville for a highly competitive girls lacrosse matchup in the midwest for the Top Lax Recruits High School Game of The Week! Carmel Girl’s lacrosse (KY) kicked off their season with a 14-6 win at Sacred Heart Academy (KY).

Carmel HS Junior Sophie Mock (Cal Berkley Commit) had six goals and one assist while junior Breckin Hare (Lindenwood Commit) added five goals and three assists. Junior Avery Goehl (Florida Southern Commit) had 1 goal and 2 assists while Junior Elle Tomalia (1G, 1A), and Junior Riley Putnam (1G) rounded out the scoring. The Hounds return to action on Monday evening at Westfield 7pm.

As for 2023 Kentucky State Champion Sacred Heart Academy, the team drops their 1st game of the season but has a lot to be proud about moving forward. After being down 10-3 at halftime, the squad tightened up on defense and showed pride in their ability to work for great shots and hustle for ground balls in the 2nd half. Senior Emerson Holthouser (Grand Valley State Commit) led the team with 3 goals followed by Sophomore Lindsey Mangeot (1G,1A), Senior Kaelin Truman (Alabama Huntsville Commit) and Sophomore Molly Hooker (1G). The SHA Valkries are back in action on March 6th vs DuPont Manual.
