BALTIMORE – Jack Adams had five goals and an assist and Jason Ashwood had four goals as Hereford defeated Glenelg, 13-3, Wednesday to claim its sixth straight 3A/2A Maryland state championship at UMBC.
Hereford (19-2), ranked No. 18 by TopLaxRecruits.com, set a state record with its ninth state championship.
The Bulls jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first quarter as the junior Ashwood and senior Adams scored two goals apiece in the opening quarter. Glenelg (15-4) didn’t score its first goal until 9:54 in the second quarter when Nick Forrest found Tommy Chaisson for the score.
Hereford wasn’t letting up though as the Bulls would rattle off two more scores to go up 7-1 before the half.
Adams, Ashwood, and senior Joe Seider (two goals) helped give the Bulls a comfortable lead in the second half.
Bulls coach Brian King is now 95-6 overall at Hereford.

The Bruins (18-3) scored the game’s first 12 goals and set a Class 4A record for most goals in a championship game while dealing the Warriors 916-1) their first loss.
Ellie McNulty scored four goals and Aislinn Probst added three for the Bruins
