James Walsh scored with 3:44 to play in overtime Saturday, lifting St. Mark’s to a 7-6 victory over host Tower Hill in the quarterfinals of the Delaware Boys State Lacrosse Tournament.
Joseph Gianaras had three goals and Morgan Madonna and James Magnani each scored a pair while Alex manges posted 12 saves for the fifth-seeded Spartans (14-3), who advance to meet top-seeded Salesianum School on Wednesday.
Andrew Pettit scored four goals for the fourth-seeded Hillers (13-4).
Salesianum School 19, Wilmington Friends 10
Jason Kelly pumped in six goals to lead the top-seeded and two-time defending champion Sals (15-2) to the quarterfinal victory.
Graham Seuffert added three goals while AJ Witherell, Sean Giampietro and Colby Reeder each scored twice for Salesianum.
Sam Carney led the Quakers (12-5) with four goals and Shawn Kirkpatrick added a pair.
Cape Henlopen 16, Dover 7
Todd Keen, Michael Hopkins and Shane Benson each scored three goals while Zack Lopez. Matthew Kane and Blake Mann each tallied a pair to lead second-seeded Cape (13-4), which will play Caesar Rodney in the semis.
Dennis Hallock and Ryan McQuaide each scored twice for Dover.
Caesar Rodney 9, Polytech 7
Thomas Aloe scored four goals and Sean MacLeish added a pair while Johnmichael Smith posted 15 saves to lift the sixth-seeded Riders (14-3) into the semis.
Seven different players scored for third-seeded Polytech (13-4), which got 10 saves from Thomas Bailey.
Girls
Cape Henlopen 19, St. Andrew’s School 7
Sara Young had four goals, Anna Frederick and Sarah Tappan each scored three and Allie Yeager had two goals and five assists as the top-seeded Vikings (15-1) coasted into the semifinals.
Ursuline 9, Polytech 8
Mary Abram scored five goals to lead the fourth-seeded Raiders (12-4) into the semis and a date with Cape Henlopen.
Tower Hill 20, Sussex Tech 8
Jenna Chodos netted six goals and had two assists while Meghan Cobb had four goals and three assists and Sophie McCoy and Kiva Walsh each scored three times to lead the second-seeded Hillers (13-3) in the first round.
Tower Hill will meet Charter School of Wilmington in the semifinals Tuesday.
Kellen Cannon and Maddy Ellenberger scored three goals each and Dorie Zimmerman added two for Sussex Tech (12-4).
Archmere 12, Charter 11
Alissa Salvitti had four goals and two assists and Caroline Rath added three goals and an assist to lead the No. 6 Auks (13-3) to the win.
