The Westminster Schools (GA) sophomore defenseman-FO specialist Charlie Trense has made a commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Notre Dame.

Position: Close D, F/O

College Choice: University of Notre Dame

Club Affiliations: Thunder Lacrosse, Atlanta Shockers, Long Island Sting

Major lacrosse honors, camps and showcases: Jake Reed’s 3d Nike Blue Chip, Maverik Showtime, All-State (2nd team), Starter on 2012 State Semi-finalist team and 2013 State Champion team

What will you major in/study? Undecided

Why did you choose ND? “I really like the coaching staff at Notre Dame and feel that it is the right fit for me. It is a great combination of top tier academics and athletics. They seem like a very tight-knit team.”

Outlook for your High School team next season? “Our goal is to win the State Championship. We’re returning most of our starters from a State Championship team, so we feel we have a good chance. Coach Souza has always preached that it’s always going to be about how we play (groundballs, face-offs, clearing, shooting, etc.) rather than about how the other team plays.”
