Host McDonogh School (MD) raced to a 10-1 lead and coasted to a 21-14 conquest over Notre Dame Prep Wednesday in Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland girls’ lacrosse.
The win left the Eagles – No. 1 in the Brine/TopLaxRecruits Rankings – at 10-0 overall and 7-0 in the league. The victory also was their 101st in a row and leaves them two away from the national record of 103 set by Maryland programs Mt. Hebron and Loch Raven.
McDonogh plays Friday at St. Mary’s and then Monday at No. 8 Marriotts Ridge Monday when it can tie the record.
McDonogh got balanced scoring, led by Olivia Jenner (four goals, one assist), Kelsey Cummings (two goals, six assists), Savannah Buchanan (three goals, one assist), Andie Aldave (two goals, two assists) and Brindi Griffin (two goals, two assists). Gabby Cadoux had 11 saves.
Notre Dame Prep (6-3, 6-2) got four goals from Mae Tarr.

Matt Soran scored three goals to lead the host Raiders (10-0) past the Mustangs.
