Hollis Brookline High School (NH) 2016 defense-midfielder Shae Berry has made a commitment to play Division I lacrosse at American University.
High School: Hollis Brookline High School, NH
Graduation Year: 2016
Position: Defensive Midfielder
College Choice: American University
Club Affiliation: Granite State Elite
What will you major in/study? Undecided
Why did you choose American? “I chose American because I immediately felt welcomed by the coaches Emma Wallace and Colleen McCaffrey, and the players. The high academic standard is something I knew I wanted from the beginning.
“When I first toured AU, I knew I belonged there. The opportunity to spend four years in the nation’s capital is something I couldn’t pass up.”
Outlook for 2015 HS season? “We lost 10 of our strongest players, so our team is relatively young. We have a great group with amazing team chemistry coming in for the 2015 season and I have a feeling that we will push ourselves to our maximum potential to go farther than we did last year.”
Thank You: “First I would like to thank my youth lacrosse coaches, Andy Eliopoulos, Chris Pestana, and my Dad for introducing me to the game.
“Scott, Dave, and Connor-Thanks for always pushing me in Top, you three have made a huge impact on my physical fitness.
“I would also like to thank my HS/Club coaches, Jack Taber, Katina Sousa, and McKinley Curro for their support.
“Finally, I’d like to thank my parents and my sister Reagan for always believing in my dream of D1. I wouldn’t have made it this far without you guys.”
Other schools considered: UNH, CU Boulder, Sacred Heart, Washington and Lee
