Today’s ‘Uncommitted Spotlight’ features Top Gun Fighting Clams 2020 attackman Connor Sullivan of Hopkinton High School (MA).

Highlight film below:

Lacrosse Honors: Started all Varsity games as a freshman for the 14-5 Hopkinton High School squad, Trilogy Academic Aces All-Star last summer, Clam program’s top scorer (in all classes) during the Summer of 2017.

Academics: Honor Student with a 4.03 GPA

Coaches Comments: “We’ve all heard it, the age-old lacrosse debate: what’s the most important position on the field? I’d contend that 97% of lacrosse people will say either goalie or a face off man, and of that 97%, it’s a pretty even split on the one vs. the other.

“I’m in the 3% where I think it may be a third position; a left-handed feeder at the attack position, preferably one who is also a dangerous scorer. Over my numerous years of lacrosse coaching, in both the club and high school setting, my best teams have often had a very good goalie, and they often have a very good face off man (always one of the two, but not always both). But one thing they have all had is a very good left handed feeder at the attack position. Unlike in Canada, where a larger percentage of players are left handed, south of the border, nearly all lacrosse teams consist primarily of righties. So that lefty feeder ends up feeding to far more players’ strength. The lefty feeder, I believe, is like oil in a car’s engine, a lubricant that makes everything flow.

Connor Sullivan

“Well, Connor was the oil to our Clam engine this past summer, and he will be again this fall. With more overall points than any other player in the entire program (46 in five tournaments), Connor simply broke out this summer. He also led his class in total assists. And when went he went out on his own to prospects days – to this point, he’s done three – all accounts are that he was nothing short of exceptional (two separate coaches referred to him as the single best attackman his age at the event).

“The fact that he’s the only top attackman in his Clam 2020 class who has not reclassified makes Connor’s upside even more intriguing.

“Look for this 2020 Clam to shine in the months and years to come. We have exceptional goaltenders, and we have very good face off men. But above all else, we’ve got our lefty feeder, which sets the stage for a flowing offense that we expect to be a sight to behold, and often times already is.

Fall Showcases & Tournaments: This fall, Connor will attend the Mayflower individual showcase on 11/4, and the following tournaments throughout November with his Fighting Clam team: Mayflower Invitational (11/5), Flg in 3d (11/12) and the Philly Showcase (11/19).
