Recently, several top Major League Lacrosse players praised the RipNet Scoring videos. RipNet has released 11 scoring videos for men and eight for women.
The videos provide rare insights and tips on scoring, some from the people that are trying to stop the best players in the world from scoring: the goalies.
In one of the men’s videos, Rochester Rattler John Galloway is telling you and showing how to be a better scorer.
“There’s only one person on the field that ultimately knows about scoring, and that’s the goalie,” said Billy Bitter, MLL All Star attackman. “Learning what goalies are taught to do will make any offensive player a better scorer. \
“As an offensive player, I always find it more helpful to get tips from a goalie. Goalies are the ones getting scored on and they know their weaknesses, which in the end, become the offensive player’s strength.”
You can get the videos by downloading RipNet’s free mobile app or online at www.rip.net.
“Every other scoring video comes from the shooters perspective, which is fine, but the RipNet videos give you a different perspective,” said MLL ace Jordan MacIntosh. “John touches on goaltending tendencies and things goalies are taught, he puts you in the goaltenders head, he lets you know what the goaltender is thinking,”
The RipNet videos were filmed in all black universe with super high resolution, high animation, super slow motion and dynamic graphics.
“The way the videos were filmed, was great. They really allow a player to concentrate on what is being explained,” said MLL record holder for most goals in a game, Grant Catalino. “I think it is beneficial to see the shooter technique wise and at the same time see the goalie positioning and reaction.”
Bitter concurred, “Every RipNet How To Score video is well made with in-depth yet easy to understand instruction.”
Charlotte Hound Jovan Miller said, “My favorite video is ‘Using the Screen.’ I think it gives any middie a great perspective on why it is so effective how to use it properly.”
Goal scoring long pole Joel White said, “My favorite video is ‘Disguising the Stick.’ It is about hiding the stick head while shooting. So many young players in the game nowadays are dropping their sticks or shooting sidearm, allowing goalies and defenders to know where and when they are releasing the shot.”
How valuable are the videos for the developing player?
MacIntosh answered, “I think the videos are the best tutorial videos you will find.”
RipNet scoring videos for women are also getting rave reviews. The videos feature insights from two-time All American and four time NCAA champion goalie Morgan Lathrop and NCAA tournament scoring leader and US National Team player Katrina Dowd.
“The videos are unlike anything ever seen in the lacrosse world,” said Dowd. “As a shooter the only person in my way of scoring is the goalie, to be able to learn tendencies from elite goalies will immensely change your game.”
