From Press Release
The host IMG Academy (FL) lacrosse program opened its inaugural season Saturday at home by falling to defending club state champion Wharton, 11-10, weekend against Wharton High School, the defending Florida High School Club State Champion.

With over 100 students, parents and faculty in attendance, the atmosphere was electric. Late in the game and down by two scores, IMG Academy rallied to send the game into sudden-death overtime.
IMG goalie Parker Smith (Memphis, Tenn.) was a standout with 21 saves, helping his club stay close despite a 42-26 shot advantage for Wharton.
“Parker held everything together for us in goal,” said IMG defensive coordinator Jason Basso. “We played a tough Wharton team. Unfortunately we made a few too many mistakes due to our lack of game experience, but we will fix that as we move forward. But it was definitely exciting to be out there for the first time and play a game.”
On the offensive end, sophomores Jackson Costello and Tyler Liotta-Snyder had three goals each for IMG, while juniors Cody Gray and Jonathan Thelen had two goals apiece.
