The first half of the Vail Lacrosse Shootout completed on Wednesday with the final games of the U19 Boys tournament as newcomer Red Bandana defeated Colorado, 16-15, in double overtime in the U19 Boys Division 1 final.
The Red Bandanas – comprised of players from 10 states – won the title on a goal by Jeremy Magno (Bergen Catholic-NJ/Harvard), his third of the game. Anthony DeMaio (Coronado-CA/Boston University) led the Red Bandanas with five goals, and attack Ryan Graff (Bloomington Jefferson-MN/Harvard) also scored three, while Nicholas DeMaio (Coronado-CA, 2018/Boston University) scored two. Connor Fletcher (Princeton Day School-NJ/Cornell) and Lucas Cotler (Syosset-NY/Yale) also scored for the Red Bandanas.
The Red Bandanas are named for former Boston College lacrosse player and 9/11 hero Welles Crowther.

The third place game was yet another nail biter with double overtime. FCA goalie Alex Demarco made a key save in the second overtime adding to his many throughout the game, allowing his team the win.
