Springfield-Montco (PA) 2018 defenseman/LSM Brian Maienshein has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Widener University.
Brian Maienshein Profile:

High school: Springfield-Montco, PA
Grad year: 2018
Position: Defense/LSM
College committed to: Widener University
Club team: Bandits
Lacrosse honors: Suburban One Honorable Mention 2016, Third Team All League 2017, First Team All League 2018
Academic honors: Honor Roll 2016, 2018
Expected major: Criminal Justice
Why did you choose Widener? “The moment I stepped on campus, Coach Jamie Lockard made me feel right at home. I wanted to challenge myself in the classroom but also athletically, too, and Widener fit that balance perfectly. Having the ability to also come home on long weekends as well as having my parents able to see me play was also a huge factor in my decision.”
HS team’s 2018 highlights: “We, as a program, have made tremendous leaps in the four years I’ve been here. Freshman year we made the first playoff game in school history. Junior year also where we won the first game in school history over Pope John Paul II. Springfield is beginning to establish itself as a legitimate contender in Suburban One and District 1.”
Thank You: “I’d like to thank my parents for everything they’ve done for me over the years, and my high school coaches, Hank Resch and Bill Krewson, for taking the extra time to stay after practice and help me work on my weaknesses; finally, my club coach, Peter Burns and the entire Bandits coaching staff, for guiding me through this process.”
Other school considered: Ursinus
