Major lacrosse honors: Varsity (Freshman) Skyline’s MVP (we went 13-5), First team All-League, First team All-Region for playoffs and third team All-State. Several All-Star teams at tournaments including Can-Am and Great Lakes. I made the Midwest Select team, the Brine All-American team and True National team.
Academic Honors: Honor Roll
Community Service: “I’ve volunteered at Food Gatherers and delivered food and clothes to homeless shelters in the area.”
What will you major in/study? Sports Training and Marketing
Why did you choose Michigan? “The University of Michigan is my home town school and the idea of putting on the Wolverine jersey and playing in the Big House put U of M ahead of all the other schools.
“That and U of M is about to start playing in the best lacrosse league in the country in 2015 and I know Coach (John) Paul and Coach (Ryan) Denehy and the rest of the Michigan staff are building a championship team here in Ann Arbor and I want to be a part of it.
“As for my studies, I want to be a coach and I plan to study Sports Training and Marketing at U of M. Go Blue!”
What are your thoughts on this past HS lacrosse season/team’s outlook for next season? “Last season my Skyline High School team went 13-5 and made it to the second round of the State Playoffs. We’re a young team, still mostly Jr’s and Soph’s and we fully expect to make a run deep into the State tournament this year and there is no reason we can’t challenge for a State Championship this year and next.”
Thank You: “My coaches have been great. Coach Gervat at True, Coach Danehy at Go Blue, Coach Kenney at Juiced Cherries. Coach Eker at Michigan Wolverine Warriors for a time. Coach Jack Robenalt at Skyline and now with me at True. I’ve been lucky to have great coaches. My parents have been great. My Dad pushes me in the right way and travels a lot with me in the summer. Thank you to my teammates, especially Jack Fisher who works out with me all the time.”
Other schools considered: Fairfield, Loyola, OSU, Stony Brook and Hartford
