2/15/2023 BERNARDSVILLE, NJ – Caden Kirst, a junior goalie of Bernards High School (NJ), has committed to Play D1 lacrosse at Rutgers University! Caden, plays club lacrosse for Tri-State, and was named Iron 44 All Star and Bernards High School Freshman MVP in 2021 & JV MVP in 2022.

Why did you choose Rutgers?: The reason why I chose Rutgers was the history that my family has there. My Mom and my Dad went there, my dad played Goalie at Rutgers from 1988 to 1990. As a family, we went to many Rutgers football games, basketball games and lacrosse games. My 2 older brothers went there as well, Connor and Colin. Going to there games in Piscataway and feeling the electricity from the crowd when they scored, made me very hyped up. Also the education there is awesome, the support they have is great and the tradition as a team is one of the best.
Who do you wish to thank for helping you achieve this honor?: I want to thank my family for believing in me. My mom taking me to all of my tournaments, my brothers motivating me before games. I want to thank my friends for supporting me in cage, shooting on me early in the morning, making me laugh and having a great time with them. My coaches as well, even Tri-State, thank you for helping me to become the player I am today, the long talks after games, the hype up talks before games and the one on ones were truly special and I will always remember that.
