Springfield (PA) senior midfielder Steve Halko has made a commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Cabrini College.

Steve Halko ledger:

Steve Halko (#19)
Steve Halko (#19)

High School: Springfield High School, Springfield, Pennsylvania

Graduation Year: 2013

Position: Midfield

College Choice: Cabrini College

Club Affiliation: HEADstrong Foundation

Major lacrosse honors: All-Delco Honorable Mention, 3 Varsity Letters

Academic Honors: 3.6 GPA

What will you major in/study? Pre-Pharmacy/Chemistry

Why did you choose Cabrini? “I chose Cabrini because I have always admired the lacrosse program. I have known Coach (Steve) Colfer from middle school by going to campus for camps and I never forgot the way he coached.

“Aside from the elite lacrosse program they run, Cabrini offers a great science department that I am excited to join and start working towards my goal of becoming a Pharmacist.”

Outlook for your H.S. season? “Springfield’s ultimate goal this year is for a State Title. We believe that we can play with the top teams in Delaware County and we are ready to show it. This is my last year so I will stop at nothing less than our goal.”

Additional Comments: “I would like to thank my parents and my brother and sister. They supported me 100% every step of the way.

“Also, of course, Coaches Lemieux, Friel, Orlando, Adolph, McSorley, and Coach Frimmer for teaching me so much about lacrosse and how to be an elite player. More importantly, they showed me how to be a good man. Those lessons you can’t buy in life and I appreciate everything that they did for me.

“I would like to thank Coach Brian Neary of the HEADstrong Foundation for everything he did to help me as well. I am looking forward to the next four years as part of the Cabrini lacrosse team.”
