WASHINGTON D.C. – Matt Rambo had three goals and two assists and Jeff Cimbalista added three goals while Jack Altieri dominated at the face-off X as La Salle College High (PA) defeated DeMatha Catholic (MD), 9-6, tonight in the annual “Fallen Heroes Game” at Catholic University.

The game honors the memory of two true American heroes: First LT. Travis Manion (La Salle), who died in Iraq in 2007; and his best friend and roommate from the US Naval Academy, Navy SEAL, Lt. Brendan Looney (DeMatha), who died in Afghanistan in 2010.
La Salle, which has won all three years, was making its 2013 debut, and is ranked No. 4 by TopLaxRecruits.com.
The Explorers jumped to a 5-1 first-quarter lead and never allowed DeMatha (2-2) to get close.

Altieri won 15 of 19 face-offs and added two assists. Aidan Kerrigan scored two goals for La Salle while Colin Macdougall made six saves. La Salle was playing without standout midfielder Sean Coleman, who is out several more weeks with an ankle injury; as well as several starters who played today in the state ice hockey championship.
