BALTIMORE – Timmy Kelly collected four goals and two assists as host Calvert Hall defeated Archbishop Spalding, 7-2, in a rainy MIAA A Conference game.
The win comes on the heels of the Cardinals’ key 9-7 come-from-behind win Friday night over Gilman.

The race to get into the MIAA postseason is starting to heat up with May right around the corner, and for Calvert Hall (12-4, 4-3) this is the right time to be peaking.
“This was a good win for us, we played with better pace and played faster in the second half,” said coach Bryan Kelly.
Scoring for Archbishop Spalding (7-10, 0-7) was Benjamin Garden and Patrick Cooper. Goalie Andrew Dirks (Delaware) made 9 saves in goal for the Cavaliers.
Luke Ciccarone, Grant Bimstefer, and Ethan Mintzer had the other tallies for Calvert Hall, while goalie Joe McSorley made seven saves.
Calvert Hall had a 3-2 halftime lead and then turned it on in the second half. Kelly felt his team was coming off the high from the Gilman win, but was pleased with the second half effort.
“I think we stepped up towards the end and hopefully we can carry to McDonogh, because that’s the one we really need.”
The last two games on the schedule for Calvert Hall are McDonogh (Friday, away) and Loyola-Blakefield (next Tuesday, home); wins over both would catapult the Cardinals into the postseason.
