The lacrosse community is mourning the passing of Mountain Vista (CO) head boys’ lacrosse coach and popular science teacher Jake Herman.

According to Vistanow.org, no details on Herman’s passing were released as students were informed of his passing this morning.

Vistanow.org reported that Herman, who had a doctorate in microbiology, had taught at Mountain Vista for three years and coached the high school team for three seasons.

Herman, also a master coach for club program 3D, led Vista to a 39-11 record and a state semifinals berth in 2015. He formerly had been an assistant at nearby state power Regis Jesuit.
