BEVERLY HILLS, MI – Marian 2015 attack Caroline Forester said she was looking to get exposure and learn something new before the season when she came today to try out for the Brine National Lacrosse Classic’s Michigan girls’ team.
“I think it’s a great experience and I want to just get more looks and just know the game better,” said Forester.

Approximately 20 players from today’s event at Detroit County Day School will be announced this week to represent Michigan at the Brine NLC, which will be held July 1-3 in Boyds, Md. Up to 20 girls’ teams and more than 20 boys’ squads will compete for a national championship this year in an event that draws elite teams around the country through similar regional tryouts.

The event also features a Middle School lacrosse Academy and for the first time will have a Freshman Boys’ Tournament with teams from select regions.
Forester said the tryout went well and that players worked together.
“I thought that our 7v7 went really well and I thought that everyone played nicely and shared the ball,” she said. “(I just wanted) to spread it out and share the field.”
What is she looking for in a college program? “Basically a good coach and a good team that I like and feel comfortable with,” she said. “Just a good college is mainly my first choice.”
Evaluators had only numbers to choose from today to ensure that players were anonymous.
