What will you major in/study? Human Nutrition, Food & Exercise
Why did you choose Virginia Tech? “I chose Virginia Tech because it is a great school! It has everything I want in terms of academics and athletics. I am so excited to play for Coach (John) Sung, Coach (Amanda) Shimp and Coach (Gregg) Gebhard. I’ve always wanted to go somewhere with amazing school spirit and big time sports. Playing for Virginia Tech in the ACC will give me the chance to play in the #1 conference with great teammates and coaches who are going to put Virginia Tech on the map!”
Outlook for 2017 HS season? “We had a great year in 2016. This year will be very different because we graduated 11 seniors. So, all the younger players will have a great chance to step up and take on the challenge. I hope to help my team in any way I can to make it back to the WCAC playoffs and VISAA playoffs in 2017!”
Thank You: “First, I’d like to thank my family for supporting me and helping me in every way they can. From endless road trips to practices, games and lessons to countless research hours, they’re always there for me.
“Second, thank you to the many coaches who always support and believe in me. I still have so much to learn from each of you! I’d especially like to thank Coach Eleanor Tydings Gollob (Pride Girls Lacrosse Club). Coach El has done more for me than I can possibly put into words. Aside from my parents, no one has been there for me more than Coach El!
“Last, thank you to Coaches Denise Wescott (Capital Lacrosse Club), Tricia Giacone (Pride Girls Lacrosse Club), Bethany Warren (Capital Lacrosse Club), Mia Breheny (Capital Lacrosse Club), Maggie Vaughan (Capital Lacrosse Club), Sarah Walsh (Lacrossover) and Alex Velesz Whitworth (Paul VI Catholic High School) for always believing in me, challenging me and helping me grow.”
