Laura Jordan

High School: Walton High School, GA

Graduation Year: 2014

Position: Defense/Midfield

College Choice: Kennesaw State University

Club Affiliation: Eagle Stix

Major lacrosse honors: 2x Best Defensive Player of the Year Walton High School, 2x Georgia All-State Team, 2x All-County Team, Georgia All-Star, 2x Georgia National Team, Dogwood Classic All-Tournament MVP

Academic honors: 3 year representative on Student Government Association, Walton High School Raider Pride Award for outstanding character, Walton High School Physical Education Student of the Year

What will you major in/study? Major: Sport Management

Why did you choose the school? “I chose Kennesaw State because I really liked Coach (Kristina) Llanes and her coaching philosophy and I also wanted to be a part of a newer lacrosse program. Also KSU has great athletic facilities, especially for lacrosse.”

What are your thoughts on this past HS lacrosse season/team’s outlook for next season? “My team had a winning record last season and made it to the state semifinals where we fell short. This year we will have a lot of returning talent on both sides of the ball and want to make a serious run for the state championship and bring home the trophy.”

Thank You: “I would like to thank my parents for encouraging me to be my best and to never give up; Coach LeAnn Tutchton, who introduced me to the game of lacrosse and has continued to teach me; my trainer, Mandy Godbee, who helped me get faster and stronger and is a great role model; Coach Tim Godby and the staff at Eagle Stix, who allowed me to play with the best travel team in the state; and my high school coaches, Mandy Ryan and Karen Duncan.
