Why did you choose Oregon??”? I chose to play lacrosse at the University of Oregon because I feel the academic and athletic programs are a perfect fit for me. When I first visited the campus on my recruiting visit, I knew it was where I wanted to go. I feel that both the academic and athletic aspect of the University of Oregon will positively challenge me to grow and prepare me for my career and life after college. The support the school provides for student-athletes is incredible which heavily influenced my decision.
“At first, I was not planning on going across the country for college, but when I visited I fell in love with a big school that had a small school feel and amazing school spirit. I also liked the chemistry between the lacrosse players and the coaches. I am so excited to be able to play for such a competitive Division I lacrosse team and cannot wait to contribute to Oregon’s lacrosse program. Go DUCKS!”
What is your team’s outlook for next season? “??I am very excited for my senior High School season! I am super excited to be cCptain. Individually, my goals for this season are to stay positive, and continue to go hard in each game: running full speed and being a great teammate, leader and mentor for the rest of the team.
“As a team, I really want to stress teamwork and moving the ball quickly. I think this will make us even more dimensional and much more of a threat for other teams. I think it is the best feeling when we transition the ball quickly from the defensive end or off the draw and have a lot of people help put the ball in the back of the net! We have a lot of young talent coming back and I think everyone has matured and hopefully our play on the field will demonstrate the great team chemistry we have.”
Thank You: “??I really want to thank my parents, Karen and Doug, for providing me with all the resources that have helped me reach the position I am in today. They are always there for me and have believed in me from the start and I am so fortunate to have them. I also would really like to thank my club coach/director, Lukas Cash, because his whole coaching philosophy is to push us to run full speed and a great teammate. He has taught me that giving 100% is not enough and being “good” is only average. This is why I push myself to do one extra sprint or one extra rep and care about the little things because ultimately you are successful if you do the little things right, so these create bigger successes.”
Other schools considered: ??Lehigh University, Lafayette College, William & Mary, Bucknell
