Wave One: Girls’ recruit: Milton (GA) 2015 midfielder Davis commits to Vanderbilt

Milton (GA) rising junior attackman Hannah Davis has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Vanderbilt University.

Major lacrosse honors, Showcases: 2013 Elite 120 Showcase, 2013 Nike Ride, 2013 2nd Team All State – Midfield, 2013 Georgia National Team 1, T-300 Showcase, 2013 Nike Sparq Speed Award

Academic honors, service projects: 4.0 GPA, Spanish Honor Society, Scholar Athlete, religious education teacher for elementary age kids

What will you major in/study? Undecided

Why did you choose the school? “As soon as I walked on the campus, I knew it was the school for me. The academics are outstanding and I really like Coach (Cathy) Swezey. I have a former Milton teammate, Amanda Lockwood, who will be a senior when I am a freshman and can’t wait to play with her again. Another plus is the campus is not too far from home so my family and friends can come watch me play.”

What are your thoughts on this past HS lacrosse season/team’s outlook for next season? “I have been playing varsity lacrosse since my freshman year. In both 2012 and 2013, we won the State Championship. We played some top teams very close this year including McDonogh, Vero Beach, Good Counsel and Georgetown Visitation. In fact, we beat Vero Beach to become the #1 team in the South! While we lost many talented seniors this year, I believe my team has some great returning talent and will be strong this spring.”
