Kristen Waagbo will return to the Brine National Lacrosse Academy in 2014 as the program director for the middle school girls.
Kristen has recently been appointed as Assistant Coach at Duke University Women’s Lacrosse and will primarily work with the offensive unit. Prior to arrival in Durham, NC this summer, Kristen served as Assistant Coach at the U.S. Naval Academy where her responsibilities included overseeing the development of the squad’s offense. During her two years in Annapolis, Navy recorded a ledger of 33-9, captured two Patriot League Championships and made back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
In 2010, as the top Assistant Coach for one season at UC Davis, Kristen helped the Aggies become one of the most improved teams in the country.
Coach Waagbo will develop the daily curriculum for the Brine National All Star Lacrosse Academy and organize a staff of NCAA collegiate lacrosse coaches to provide one-on-one position technique training and to coach the regional teams at the 2014 Brine National Lacrosse Academy in Maryland.
The Brine National Lacrosse Academy offers middle school girls currently in grades 6-8 (grad years 2018, 2019 and 2020) with an opportunity to test their skills and capability against other players in a well-structured format that combines individual drill competition and game play. Players that demonstrate the highest level of potential at each regional tryout will be invited to attend the Brine National Lacrosse Academy in Maryland, June 30-July 3, 2014. Teams are not grade specific and may combine the top-ranked players from each grade level.
Participants must be in good academic standing and aspire to play lacrosse at the highest level in high school.
Participants will take part in a daily curriculum based on position instruction, human performance, sport psychology and game competition where players and teams are instructed and coached by an NCAA collegiate lacrosse coach from top programs such as, Duke, Elon, USC, Florida, Towson, Old Dominion, Fairfield, Monmouth, Temple, Rutgers, Princeton, Hofstra, and others.
