Bishop England (S.C.) 2015 attack Jordan Mitchell has been named the TopLaxRecruits.com Girls’ Player of the Week for March 14-21.
Mitchell helped the Battling Bishops remain undefeated in South Carolina (11-0 in state, 12-2 overall as of today) and earn a key 15-14 win over Wando, the team that knocked the Bishop out of the state semifinals last year.
Mitchell, who has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Mount Union and played club lacrosse for the Fins, had scored 43 goals through her first 10 games.
How do you feel your offense has helped your team stay undefeated in state games this season?
Mitchell: “I guess goals are goals. It doesn’t matter who scored, it just matters that you get another point against the team. I was just fortunate to be able to be the one to score 43 of them.”
What do you feel has been your team’s strong spot this season?
Mitchell: “I think it’s because we all work together. We adjusted to losing so many seniors from last year and we just work really, really well together.”
What are your teams goals this season?
Mitchell: “We hope to go to states and not only improve individually, but as a team. We also, as captains, strive to prepare the incoming seniors to become successful leaders.”
What are you personal goals?
Mitchell: “Personally, I want to work on perfecting my skills and becoming faster and stronger through personal training that I will be dedicating my summer to this year.”
