TopLaxRecruits Boys’ Rankings: MIAA, Inter-Ac seasons begin; Chaminade, St. Anthony’s meet WED

We take a look ahead to a key week in boys’ lacrosse.

For one, the MIAA starts play this week as Baltimore-area powers square off after beating up on many of the top teams around the country. Four of our Top 12 teams and five of the Top 18 are MIAA teams.

On Tuesday, No. 1 Boys’ Latin (9-0) hosts McDonogh (6-2) on and No. 3 St. Paul’s (10-0) hosts No. 12 Calvert Hall (4-2) while No. 18 Loyola Blakefield (7-2) travels to St. Mary’s Annapolis (4-2). Also Tuesday, Gilman (5-1) is at Archbishop Spaulding (10-2) and Severn (8-2) is at Mount St. Joseph (8-3) whle

Meanwhile, in the Philly Inter-Ac League, action begins today as Haverford School (5-3) hosts Penn Charter (8-3). On Friday, Penn Charter travels to No. 13 Malvern Prep (5-0).

On Long Island, the first battle between St. Anthony’s and host Chaminade for Catholic League supremacy arrives Wednesday. No. 17 St. Anthony’s (4-1) has won the last four crowns, but No. 2 Chaminade (4-0) has started strong.

Lastly, Haverford School hosts the 5th annual Nike “Checking for Cancer” Lacrosse Invitational. The Fords meet No. 9 Salisbury while Penn Charter faces LaCosta Canyon (CA) and No. 20 Brunswick School (CT) meets Chatham (N.J.). Also, two-time defending Delaware state champion Salesianum plays St. Augustine Prep (N.J.).
