Thursday’s NY boys’ playoffs: No. 2 Niskayuna topples No. 20 Yorktown; Shenendehowa prevails

Luke Goldstock had four goals and an assist and Michael D’Amario (two goals, one assist) tallied the game-winner with 5:37 to play as undefeated Niskayuna toppled Yorktown, 13-11, Thursday in a New York Class B regional semifinal at the University of Albany.

Niskayuna (20-0), the Section 2 champion and No. 2 team in the TopLaxRecruits.com rankings, will meet Section 9 champ Cornwall Central (14-2) in the regional final on Saturday at SUNY Albany.

The Silver Warriors outscored Yorktown, 4-1, in the fourth quarter to earn the victory Thursday. Evan Quinn made 12 saves and Lucas Maloney scored twice.
Brian Prestreau led Section 1 champion and 20th-ranked Yorktown (17-3) with four goals while Nick Mariano, Connor Vercruysse, and Danny Manning each scored twice.

Shenendehowa 13, Mamaroneck 8

Senior D.J. Edick scored four goals and Kyle Marr had three goals and two assists for the Plainsmen (17-3) in their Class A regional semifinal win at Albany.

Shenendehowa will play Minisink Valley Saturday in the regional final 9state quartersd.
