Thursday’s HS results: St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) boys rally; McDonogh (MD) girls keep rolling

Matt Koerner scored with just over two minutes to play as visiting St. Anthony’s rallied past St. John the Baptist Thursday to claim an 8-7 win in New York Catholic High School action.

The Friars (4-0, 3-0), ranked No. 3 by TopLaxRecruits.com, were trailing 7-5 heading into the final period. Dylan Molloy, who assisted on the winning goal, led St. Anthony’s with four goals and two assists.

Tim Nowak had three goals and daghan Hart was a standout in goal for St. John the Baptist (1-2).

Malvern Prep (PA) 9, Salesianum School (DE) 5

Tommy O’Connor had two goals and an assist and Adam Goldner had two goals for the 14th-ranked Friars (4-0).
Troy Reeder led the Sals (2-1) with four goals and Ryan Kern made 12 saves in a standout effort.

Girls
Bay Shore (NY) 7, Hauppauge 6, 5 OT

Katie Kirk (three goals) scored in the fifth overtime after tying it in the second OT to give the seventh-ranked Marauders (2-0) the marathon victory in Division I action.

Sydney Nino had four goals for Hauppauge (2-1).

McDonogh School (MD) 16, John Carroll (MD) 6

Megan Whittle (three assists) and Grace Muller each had four goals and Casey Black scored three as No. 1 McDonogh (9-0) remained perfect and won its 78th straight game with the IAAM victory.

Kara Klages and Mackenzie Reese each had two goals for John Carroll (3-2).
