Team Minnesota is excited to announce the Girls Lacrosse program for 2016-2017.

Team Minnesota will host 3 girls’ teams this coming 2016-2017 season. Focused on skill development, Lacrosse IQ enrichment and fun, the girls program will be led by Beth Lyman, Rachel Goers and Jenn Graff. The three teams will be a 2021 team, a U13 team and a U11 team. Team Minnesota will also be hosting U9 and U7 training groups as well.

Evaluations for the Girls 2021, U13 and U11 program will be held on September 10 from 8 am to 1pm at Bloomington Kennedy HS AND on September 17 from Noon to 4:30 pm at Woodbury Bielenburg Center. No payment will be required for tryouts. We will also host an information session on the U9/U7 training groups at the Bielenberg evaluation (beginning at 4:30).

Our Leaders

Beth Lyman is a graduate of Princeton University where she played women’s lacrosse, captaining the squad as a senior. Her Princeton team was a 1989 NCAA Final 4 competitor. A recipient the MN Swarm 3M Excellence in Coaching award, Beth has coached in MN for over 10 years, at the Varsity , Middle School, and Youth levels. She will be the U13 Head Coach.

Rachel Goers was the head coach of the club program at the University of Southern California for 2 years, after coaching at Chanhassen High School for two years as an assistant/JV Head Coach. She’s also been the Assistant Commissioner of the Western Women’s Lacrosse league. In High School, Rachel was an Academic All-American. In college, at University of Minnesota Duluth, she was team Captain and won the most draw controls in the WCLA. She was also invited to the United Women’s Lacrosse League Draft Camp as a player.

Jennifer Graff is a graduate of Harvard University. An All-State Minnesota basketball player in high school, Jenn was a 4 year basketball letter winner at Harvard, and had her first lacrosse experience while practicing with Harvard University lacrosse for a season at the invitation of the coach. She has been a MSHSL Varsity Head Basketball Coach as well as a youth lacrosse coach in the Bloomington program for over 6 years.

The three teams will practice 3 times in Sept/October, and then begin practices in the spring. Teams will practice 2X per week in spring/summer so that players can also play for their association teams.
