FREDERICA, Del. – Carolina defeated New England, 7-4, Thursday to claim the Middle School (2022-23) boys’ championship at the Maverik National Lacrosse Classic at the Delaware Turf Sports Complex.
Carolina went 6-0 overall, allowing just 17 goals. Drew Wheeler and Bryce Ledwith stood out in goal and Coleman Kraske was dominant at the faceoff X. Josh Arneson, Maverick Shotwell, Patrick Noone and Zach Mansfield, Ian Songer, Jack Isacco and Harper Pennington paced a suffocating defense.
On offense, the midfield featured Breyden Harrison, Nathan Nicholas, Trey Parkes and Kavin Wood, Dustin Wagner, Kenan Everhart, Luke Popow and Jake Dunn (defensive middie). Xander Craven and Caden Castle led on attack along with Reid Barden, Gray Tyrey, James Cardillo, Nicholas Castro and Beck Sutton.
