Sweetlax is proud to announce Randy Staats has joined the Club as Director of Player Development. Staats has been responsible for overseeing the Sweetlax Box Lacrosse Program this winter and will continue to work with Sweetlax players in the Northeast and the recently opened Florida program. He is a member of the NLL Atlanta Swarm and also plays professionally with the Atlanta Blaze.
Highly regarded as one of the top play-makers in D1 lacrosse at Syracuse University, Staats also played on the Iroquois Nationals team in the 2015 World Indoor Lacrosse Championships. His 32 points ranked second on the Iroquois team and his 4 points in the Gold Medal game tied a team record. In addition, Randy plays for his hometown team, Six Nations Chiefs where he won a Mann Cup in 2014.
His numbers in college include 109 points over 2 years at Syracuse (62 goals/47 assists) and a remarkable 295 points at Onondaga CC over two years (130 goals/165 assists).
Kevin Martin, Sweetlax Founder and Director of College Recruiting welcomed Staats aboard, “Both our players and parents have raved about the practices and clinics that Randy oversees. Having him a part of the Sweetlax family is an incredible value-add to our players both on our Upstate New York and Florida teams.”
Staats has already been an integral part of developing the Box program for Sweetlax. The company envisions him conducting clinics and camps throughout the Spring and Summer while Randy continues his professional playing career with the Georgia Swarm and Atlanta Blaze.
