Tom Zenker scored three goals and James Roberts added a pair while Dan Fowler made 10 saves in goal as visiting Chaminade defeated West Islip, 9-4 Saturday in a key Long Island non-league boys’ lacrosse game.
The Flyers, ranked No. 5 by TopLaxRecruits.com, improved to 3-0. West Islip, last year’s Class A state champion, is 1-1.
Mike Moynihan had three goals for the Lions.

Sean O’Brien had three goals and Rob Dunigan added two goals and an assist as the No. 17 Bears (4-3) snapped a two-game losing streak and dealt the Panthers (7-1) their first loss.
Robert Murphy had four goals for St. Paul VI.

Mike D’Amelio won 16 of 21 face-offs and and scooped 11 groundballs and Mikey Wynne had three goals and an assist to lead the No. 6 Crusaders past the Bruins (4-1).
Cherry Creek plays at Severn School (MD) on Monday and Penn Charter (PA) on Tuesday.

Brian Prestreau scored four goals as the No. 20 Huskers (2-0) outscored the Indians (1-1) 12-2 after the game’s first few minutes.
Fordham Prep (NY) 10, Columbine (CO) 6
The Rams improved to 1-1 while the Rebels (4-3) dropped their third straight in their New York trip against top squads; they also fell to Yorktown (8-5) and John-Jay Cross River (13-12).

Joe Seider had three goals as the visiting Bulls (4-1) defeated the defending 1A-2A state champion Cougars (1-2) in the title game of the Fred Sheckells Tournament.

Danny Bucaro collected five goals and three assists and Jack Bruckner added four goals and one assist to lead the Patriots (2-0), last year’s Long Island Class A semifinalist.
Brock D’Annunzio had two goals for the Jaguars (1-2), last year’s District 1 finalist.

No. 11 Georgetown Visitation improved to 5-0 with the tight victory over host Vero Beach in the AmLax Tournament at St. Petersburg, Fla.
Vero Beach (11-4) rallied with six straight goals and tied it on a goal by Zan Biedenharn with 49 seconds left, 17-17, but Georgetown won it in regulation with 12 seconds left.
Katy Pridemore (Florida) had six goals and two assists and Biedenharn scored four goals for Vero Beach.
Vero also earned a thrilling OT win over Archbishop Carroll (1-1).
Archbishop Carroll forced overtime against Vero by scoring the final two goals of regulation, but Vero Beach outscored the Pats, 3-1, in overtime.
Pridemore and Allie Modica (UConn) had six goals and two assists each for Vero Beach vs. Carroll.
Carroll also downed Oviedo, 17-12. Natalie Schmitt (Penn State) had 11 goals and five assists and Taryn Deck (Dartmouth) nine goals and three assists for the Patriots in the two games.
Vero Beach hosts third-ranked St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) on Wednesday.
