Standout 2025 attacker, Sammy Wood, has decided to further her academic and athletic career at James Madison University. The Garnet Valley High School junior made the Academic Honor Roll her freshman and sophomore year while enrolled. Wood also has been a varsity starter since she started going to GVHS. In addition, Wood was named the MVP of the New Balance National Cup Championship game, as well as being named to the All-Tournament Team at the NB National Cup. Additionally, Wood also was named to the 2025 All-American Watchlist and the 2023 All-Delco and Central League Honorable Mention Teams. Prior to her commitment to JMU, Wood played with Phantastix Lacrosse Club.

Why did you choose JMU? – “I chose JMU because it immediately felt like home. JMU lacrosse doesn’t only offer a one of a kind team culture, but an amazing atmosphere to compete and grow my lacrosse game!” (Wood)
Who do you wish to thank? – “I want to thank my family, teammates, and coaches for pushing me this far; I wouldn’t be here without them! Specifically, Jess Lake and Jenny Dooley for growing my game and supporting me, both on and off the field. Thank you to my parents for always being there to take me where I needed to be to achieve this dream!!” (Wood)
