Both All-Mid State 38 Conference First Team 2012. “Both of us had colleges interested in us for football, however, lacrosse is our favorite sport.”
Academic honors, service projects: Both Honor Roll Students, Chandler invited to National Society of Scholars both Sophomore & Junior year. Both volunteer time coaching youth football and lacrosse.
What will you major in/study? “We are both interested in sports and High Point has a great Communications department so it is likely we will try to take courses that will help us prepare for the business world.”
Why did you choose the school? “Because of (head) Coach (Jon) Torpey and the school’s location. We were considering schools (in the Northeast), but realized that we would be playing a lot of lacrosse in February and it is freezing in the Northeast. We both really liked Coach Torpey and felt like he wouldn’t be recruiting us unless he believed in our ability to achieve success on and off the field.”
What is your HS team’s outlook for the season? “We are in line to compete in the TOC; we have eight returning starters and should have the talent to win. This will be our last year playing with our younger brother, Griffin, Class of 2015, attack. It is usually Connor and Chandler and Griffin and many times we feed off of each other. Freshman year we played with our older brother Taylor, an All-Stater (now) a junior at Hobart.”
Thank You –
Chandler: “I want to thank my parents for always being there for us. They took us where ever we needed to be and supported me and my brothers in anything that we wanted to do. Our Dad has always told us that if we work hard good things will happen, and he is right.”
Connor: “I want to thank my parents and my brothers. Committing as brothers has made us all better athletes. It is great to always have someone available to go out back and shoot with.”
Other schools considered? Hobart, St. Joseph’s, Bucknell and Fairfield
