West Morris Central (N.J.) goalie Alexander Kennedy has made a commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Stevens Tech.
Alexander Kennedy ledger:
High school: West Morris Central
Graduation year: 2014
College choice: Stevens Tech
Club affiliation: Building Blocks
Major lacrosse honors, camps and showcases: Blue Chip 225, Top 205, Champ Camp, NYLA, FLG in 3D All Star
What will you major in/study: Mechanical Engineering
Why did you choose school: “Stevens offers everything that I could ask for in a college: high level of academics that coincide with my interests, a great setting, help with job placement, and lacrosse. In addition, Coach (Gene) Peluso and Coach (Eric) Koch are great guys and have been running the lacrosse program very well. I look forward to playing under their expertise.”
Outlook for your high school team: “The 2014 season should be challenging, as we will play some of the best teams in the state (i.e. Delbarton, Mountain Lakes, Chatham, etc.). Although we face a rigorous schedule, West Morris returns many of last year’s varsity players, whom reached the NJ Group 3 state final. With the help of some of the younger talent on the team, we could find ourselves in the group 3 finals again.”
Thank You: “I would like to thank everyone at Building Blocks and West Morris for making me the player that I am today. Special thanks to Kevin Dugan, Dan Leidl, and Shelley Sheiner for help with the recruiting process. I am most appreciative of my parents for supporting me since the start of lacrosse.”
