New Hampton School (N.H.) sophomore midfielder Milan Murray has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Virginia.

What will you major in/study? “Not sure yet, however, business is something I am thinking about.”
Why did you choose the school? “I chose Virginia not only because of its lacrosse reputation, but its reputation as a university. The school has a whole lot to offer, is in a great location, has an awesome campus, and a high level of education. Coach (Dom) Starsia is one of the best college coaches out there and it would really be an honor to play for him. I wanted a school that is competing for a National Championship every year and I think Virginia is that caliber of a team. I can’t wait to be a part of the Hoo’s family and compete against the other great D1 teams in the future.”
What are your thoughts on this past HS lacrosse season/team’s outlook for next season? “My thanks goes out to are coach Justin Simon. He really turned New Hampton lacrosse around, and led us to one of the best New Hampton seasons in about twenty or so years (record of 10-4). Our team was led by some strong seniors and a very solid goalie who will be returning next season. With hopefully some kids filling in on defense, we should be just as good.”
