Why did you choose the school? “I chose the University of North Carolina for its outstanding academics and athletics. North Carolina had been my dream school ever since I visited with my team during the fall of my freshman year. I was blown away by the beautiful campus as well as the state of the art facilities. What truly won me over was how Coach (Joe) Breschi and his staff run the program. I love how they emphasized the importance of ‘Family, Academics, Lacrosse’. I also wanted to go to a school that would be fighting for a national championship every year and due to the great coaching and high quality recruits and I believe UNC is one of those schools.”
What are your thoughts on this past HS lacrosse season/team’s outlook for next season: “l enjoyed last year’s high school lacrosse season, but to West Coast Canadians, high school lacrosse is not as important as club. This past club season was the most fun I have ever had playing lacrosse, we had a close-knit team and an amazing coach. We did not do as well as we hoped in the round robin for provincials. We suffered a couple last-second losses and due to the format of the tournament, we were not able to have a chance to compete for the Gold Medal. We settled for a bronze medal in a game which we handily won, 11-6. I have a very good feeling about this upcoming season. We’ve acquired a couple of players from a different city, and on top of that our younger players have developed really well. I believe we will be the deepest team coming into the season, and I am greatly looking forward for a chance at redemption in provincials.”
Thank You: “I’d like to thank my long time box lacrosse coach, Ron Barker, as well as my long time field lacrosse coach, Pat Coyle, who were the biggest influences in shaping me into the player and the person I am on and off the field. I’d also like to thank Reynold Comeault, Shawn House, Brent Hoskins, and Chris McKay who all helped guide me through the recruiting process.”
Other schools considered? Penn state, Maryland, Denver
