The Detroit News has reported that Rob Ambrose, Michigan’s most successful coach and one of the most successful in the nation, announced his resignation on Tuesday.

Ambrose told the Detroit News (click here for story) that after 21 seasons, “there’s a time and place for everything. I’m going to step down. It’s a tough decision. It’s my only coaching job. I can pretend that it’s not emotional but it is.”
Ambrose said he was moving to suburban New York City for business purposes.
Brother Rice has won every Michigan Division 1 title since 2005, the first season the Michigan High School Athletic Association sponsored the sport. Brother Rice has not lost to a Michigan school since 2002.
