Floridalacrossenews.com has reported that Caitlyn Wurzburger, a 2020 attack from American Heritage in Delray Beach, FL., has given a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Syracuse University.
In the article, it notes that Wurzburger was named to the Sun-Sentinel’s All-Palm Beach lacrosse team last spring as a seventh grader and has participated on Syracuse’s winter lacrosse camp.
The early commitment comes just after the college coaches associations for women’s and men’s lacrosse have supported proposals that would ban contact with recruits until the start of the player’s junior year.
Wurzburger plays club for Florida Select and the Long Island Yellowjackets.
Wurzburger’s father, Rob, an Associated Head Coach at American Heritage is also a director and coach with Florida Select. He also was a high school standout at Upstate New York power West Genesee and a two-time All-American at Maryland.
