CATONSVILLE, Md. – Below are to players that shined this week at the Under Armour Shootout Session 3 at UMBC. Click here for a scoreboard on the event.
Anthony Faraino, Penn Charter (PA), 2014, Attack/Midfield, The rising senior hails from Vestavia Hills, Al., and is playing on the Penn Charter team at the Shootout and is making an impact. Faraino has an amazing shot and great foot work.
Colin Kasner, DeMatha (MD), 2016, Defense, Kasner had a solid game against the Clams club team with a couple deflections and an interception to clear the ball up field. The rising sophomore has some decent checks and moves his feet well.
Adam Murray, FUZE, 2014, Midfield, Murray is athletic and gets to the GB’s pretty quickly. Seems to have a good grasp of the game and what to do on the defensive side and offensive. The Robert E. Lee (VA) rising senior Has some speed and doesn’t seem to tire.
Timmy Monahan, Gonzaga (DC), 2015, Attack, The Gonzaga rising junior had a good game against the Minnesota Elite squad with a score and an assist. Monahan has a good lax I.Q. and distributes the ball well to others. Monahan looks to be a star in the making at Gonzaga.
Tucker Carney, HHL, 2014, Attack, Carney runs well and shoots hard. The rising senior from Strath Haven (PA) has the prototypical attackman frame with some muscle and good footwork.
Alexander Prescott, LB3 Atlanta, 2014, Midfield, Prescott is everywhere on the lacrosse field and the rising senior looks to be a good leader. From a southern powerhouse such as Centennial (GA) High School, Prescott looks to have solid skills with good footwork and is in good shape.
Thomas Blease, Minnesota Elite, 2014, Defense, Blease has great positioning for a defenseman, and he moves his feet well side to side to side-to-side, staying with his attackman. Has some vicious checks and gets to the ground balls without any problem. The Blake High School rising senior should be on many college coaches radar after this camp.
Nick Johnson, Blaze, 2015, Midfield, Johnson is a ball hawk, not ball hog, a ball hawk, and the kid is always around catching or scooping up the rock. Johnson also has a wicked shot and makes nice crisp passes. The Canandaigua Academy (N.Y.) rising junior intercepted a pass in the game against Bulldog and then fed the ball for an alley-oop type of assist.
Matthew Samuelson, Bulldog, 2014, Midfield, Samuelson is a tall middie with fluid mechanics. The Cheshire (CT) rising senior takes care of the ball and has a good I.Q. Samuelson hit the back of the net with a nice rip against the Blaze team.
Brady Ament, Calvert Hall (MD), 2015, Attack, MIAA fans will be hearing this kids name a lot the next two years, Ament has a nice game on attack, always moving his feet and has a legit shot. The rising junior Cardinal moves the ball well and has a good I.Q.
