Preseason TopLaxRecruits.com Midwest Boys’ Rankings (last year’s records included):
1. Hill Academy (Ontario, Canada) 11-0
The Pride has gone nearly two years without a loss, but will once again have a difficult schedule in 2017. It begins March 14 against Georgetown Prep (DC).
2. Culver Military Academy (IN) 20-3
After winning the Inter-Ac Challenge championship last year, the Eagles will look to add to their 11 straight wins as they start their season March 11 against Indiana state runner-up Carmel.
3. Brother Rice (MI) 21-2
The Warriors look for their 15th straight Michigan Division I championship in 2017 when they begin their season March 25 against New Trier (IL), the Illinois Division I runner-up.
4. MICDS (MO) 19-1
The Rams won their third straight Missouri DI state championship last year and will start this season on March 8 against Priory School (MO).
5. Upper Arlington (OH) 20-3
The Golden Bears won the Ohio DI state championship in 2016 and will start the year against fellow Ohio opponent Thomas Worthington on March 28.
6. Everest Academy (Ontario, Canada) 6-5
Everest face another challenging schedule, but added depth should help. Its first game is March 28 against IMG National (FL).
7. Cincinnati St. Xavier (OH) 19-3
The Bombers look to go farther in the Ohio DI playoffs this year and will begin the year March 17 at home against Milford (OH).
8. Cathedral (IN) 20-3
The Irish are coming off of an Indiana state championship and will open their season against Louisville St. Xavier (KY).
9. Cleveland St. Ignatius (OH) 16-3
The Wildcats, the Ohio DI state runner-up, aim to return to the championship game in 2017. Their season begins March 18 against St. Ignatius Prep (IL).
10. St. Michael’s College (Ontario, Canada) 29-5
After winning almost 30 games, the Blue Gaels will try to remain one of Canada’s powerhouses in boys lacrosse.
