Unbeaten McDonogh (Md.), winner of 80 consecutive games, received eight first-place votes to remain the No. 1-ranked team in the Nike/US Lacrosse High School Girls’ Lacrosse National Top 25 poll, released today by US Lacrosse. The poll appears as part of Lacrosse Magazine’s bi-weekly report on high school girls’ lacrosse at laxmagazine.com/hsg25.
The Eagles are 11-0 following two wins in the Fight for 5 Tournament Saturday, including an 11-5 decision over No. 17 Mount Hebron (Md.) that marked the Vikings’ first defeat. Previously unranked Vero Beach (Fla.) used a 13-12 defeat of then-No. 3 St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) to claim the No. 21 position. The Friars fell to No. 14.
