Alex Dalton scored three goals as Notre Dame Academy stunned previously-undefeated Wrstwood, 10-7, Thursday in the Massachusetts girls’ Division 1 South title game at Flahive Field.
Notre Dame (22-2) won its first South championship and will face North champion Westford Academy (23-1) in the state semifinals on Tuesday.
Westwood (23-1) was ranked No. 12 by TopLaxRecruits.com entering play and had won 34 straight games and six straight Sectional championships.
Westwood rallied from an 8-4 deficit in the second half, but Charlotte Allard (two goals) and Keeley MacAfee (two goals) had keys goals for the Cougars.
Westford Academy 13, North Andover 7
Erica Mattila had three goals and four assists, while Bailey Mongillo added five goals as the top seeds rallied from an early three-goal deficit to defeat North Andover, 13-7.
Longmeadow 14, Minnechaug Regional 12, OT
Lizzie Suschana (three goals) and Krissy Schafer each scored in the first of two three-minute extra as Longmeadow earned its 11th consecutive Western sectional championship.
Jillian Scyocurka and Alexa Cambi also tallied three goals each for Longmeadow (22-1), which will face Central Mass. champion Algonquin Regional (18-3) in the semifinals Tuesday at Foley Stadium in Worcester.
