Why did you choose Grand Valley State University, Women’s D2? “As we (myself and twin Ashleigh) settled on academics and evaluating schools that could possible allow us to play both Volleyball and Lacrosse at the next level, we had a chance to visit Grand Valley State. Their academics, athletics and campus appealed to me and we decided to commit to play lacrosse for them. We are still working with the volleyball program to hopefully get a chance to try out and play Volleyball.”
Is there anything else you would like to share? “We would like to thank our family, lacrosse and volleyball coaches, all our teachers and counselors, teammates, trainers, strength coaches, and friends for the support and help throughout this process. We want to thank Major Force Lacrosse, Scioto Lacrosse & Coach Zink & Coach Rod, Mexico Lacrosse & Coach Eppler, Team Ohio, DYA-Lacrosse coaches all of who helped us get better. A heartfelt THANK YOU! to Lisa Mitchelides, Randall Swope, Mary and Morgan Fee, and our MFL and Irish Lacrosse Families who pushed us to reach higher goal and believed in us. We want to thank our parents and our sister Alec for making everything around this journey possible, encouraging us, and always supporting us. Finally, we want to thank Coach Lawler, Coach Boerger and Coach Dom you took an interest and worked tirelessly with us to make this possible. Karleigh & Ashleigh Rothe Go Lakers!! #AnchorUp “
What other colleges did you consider? “We were very thankful and honored to have the opportunity to work with a good mix of Division 1 and Division 2 schools who took an interest in what we had accomplished, and also what we as sisters (could contribute to their programs. We think this is a very personal journey and out of respect to the coaches who worked with us we will keep their program names private, but it was upwards of 10.”Dublin.”
