RADNOR, Pa. – Sean Coleman scored two goals and added two assists and defenseman Stefan Bergman scored on a full-field shot as La Salle (PA) defeated Haverford School (PA), 11-9, Saturday at the 13th annual Katie Samson Lacrosse Festival at Radnor High.
The Explorers, ranked No. 15 by TopLaxRecruits.com, improved to 11-2 while the Fords fell to 9-6.

Matt Rambo added two goals for La Salle and after he gave his team a 5-3 lead midway through the second period Bergman fired his goal into the cage from approximately 80 yards out to make it 6-3, igniting an eruption from the large crowd.
Haverford only got within one goal on one occasion as the Fords’ Gavin McBride (three goals) made it 10-7, Peter Blynn (two goals) made it 10-8 with 1:52 left and McBride scored again five seconds later to make it 10-9.
But Coleman cinched it 21 seconds later.
Zach Drake also scored twice for the Explorers. Drew Supinski added two goals for Haverford.
“Any time we get to play a game against Haverford it’s awesome,” said Coleman, whose team faces fellow Catholic League unbeaten St. Joseph’s Prep Friday night at St. Joseph’s University. “We like to play the best teams in the area, so everyone is excited. But we still have a lot of work to do.”
Ina ll, 27 high school games were played in an invitational that benefits spinal cord research and development. In other notable boys’ games:

Tyler Chambers had three goals and four assists, Peter Gayhartdt scored four goals, Curtis Zappala had two goals and three assists and Garrett Walling scored three goals as the No. 12 Churchmen (12-3) won their 11th in a row.
Grayson Helm (PG, Wyomissing High grad) and Dylan Key each had two goals and an assist for the Big Red (8-4).
Brunswick School (CT) 10, Penn Charter 4
Blake Booker scored three goals, Cameron Strafford had two goals and three assists and Jamie DeNaut and Jack Knight each scored two goals apiece as the No. 16 Bruins improved to 8-1.
James Vandegrift scored twice for Penn Charter (9-10).
Garnet Valley (PA) 6, St. Augustine Prep (NJ) 5, OT
Robert Raucci won it in overtime and finished with two goals and two assists while Jon Vandenberg had two goals and an assist and Mitch Rose made 13 saves for the Jaguars (9-4).
Joseph Eisele scored twice for the Hermits (4-6) and sent it into overtime with a late goal.
Chatham (NJ) 9, Spring-Ford 3
Christof Stone had two goals and an assist Sam Carson had two goals to lead the Cougars (8-3).
DJ Young, Christian McCormick and Trey Szostek scored for the Rams (11-3).
Downingtown East (PA) 8, Conestoga (PA) 6
Justin Risser won 17 of 18 face-offs, mark Marx made 13 saves in goal and the Cougars scored the last five goals of the game and to key the win for the Cougars (8-5).
Zach Schleicher led Conestoga w(7-7) ith three goals and Peter Zonino made 17 saves.

Harriton (PA) 15, Great Valley (PA) 13
The Rams (12-1), ranked No. 13 by TopLaxRecruits.com, dealt the Patriots (12-1) their first loss as caleigh Foust had five goals, and Jane Henderson and Alex Ladda each had three.
Emily Scullin had five goals and an assist and Brittany Edwards scored four goals for Great Valley.
Conestoga (PA) 12, Archbishop Carroll (PA) 9
Meghan McGillis pumped in five goals and Catie Smith added a pair for the No. 18 Pioneers (11-2).
Taryn Deck and Natalie Schmitt each had four goals for the Patriots (10-4).
Radnor (PA) 18, Notre Dame Academy 10
Shannon Quinn had three goals and two assists and Sara Curley, Taylor Quinn and Brooke Pancoast added two goals and an assist each to lead the host Red Raiders (9-3).
Katie Schneider, Delaney Tuite, Nora McCallion and Megan McGurk each scored two goals for the Irish (6-6).
Strath Haven (PA) 13, Episcopal Academy (PA) 7
Kathryn Restrepo had five goals to lead the Panthers (11-2).
Kristen Hinckley had two goals and an assist and Lindsey Reder posted 10 saves, two caused turnovers and three interceptions for EA (8-3).
