Lacrosse continues to grow in the deep Midwest.
There are now 10 teams in the Nebraska High School Lacrosse Association (www.Nebraskalax.com). Two of the schools – West Des Moines Valley and Ankeny – are located in Iowa – as the region’s lacrosse grows slowly but steadily.
Defending state champion Lincoln is 4-0 in state games and 5-2 overall. Millard West is 3-0 in state games and 5-1 overall. These two teams meet on April 27 at Millard West.
Omaha Burke midfielder Caleb Schneider is the Nebraska/Iowa leading scorer with 25 goals, according to Nebraskalax.com.
Other teams include Creighton Prep, Millard North, Westside, Sarpy and Elkhorn South.
There is plenty of twitter promotion. The twitter feed @NE_HS_Lax is sending out scores regularly, and all 10 teams have their own feeds.
