Girls’ recruit: Wilson West Lawn (PA) sophomore attack Klee commits to Michigan

Wilson West Lawn (PA) sophomore attack Madison Klee has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Michigan.

Madison Klee ledger:

Madison Klee

High School: Wilson High School, West Lawn, PA

Graduation Year: 2015

Position: Attack

College Choice: University of Michigan

Club Affiliation: Ultimate Goal Lacrosse

Major lacrosse honors, All-Star teams, Camps, Showcases: 2011 Brine National All-Star Team, 2012
All-Berks County First Team, 2013 All-Berks County First Team

Academic honors, service projects: Honor Roll, Berks County Youth in Action, Gilmore Henne Community Fund

What will you major in/study? Undecided

Why did you choose Michigan? “The University of Michigan is recognized nationally in both academics and athletics. When I arrived in Ann Arbor and stepped on campus I knew Michigan was a special place, and this was exactly what I was looking for. Michigan has the facilities and people to provide me with the opportunity to grow and flourish both athletically and academically. Coach Jennifer Ulehla has a blueprint, from her past experiences, on how to successfully build a start-up program, and I am confident that Michigan can and will be a top ten caliber women’s lacrosse program before I am finished there.”

How did your season go this year, what is your outlook for next year? “While our team had success this year, I feel we didn’t achieve our goals. Under a new head coach and offensive assistant, the ground work should be laid to hopefully develop into a county and a district contender. We will graduate five to six starters from this year’s team, and we will look to underclassmen as well as incoming freshmen to make a commitment to doing more work during the off-season to develop their individual skills. This will pay off next season on the field for the entire team.”

Thank you: “I would like to thank all who have coached me in any sport since my first days of playing. Every coach and teacher has helped mold and shape me, in some way, into the athlete, student and person that I have become. I would like to thank all my teammates, school and club, who constantly pushed, motivated and supported me in every athletic endeavor.

“Choosing Ultimate as my club team has made all the difference. I am so fortunate to be surrounded by so many talented players. I want thank my current Ultimate Coaches, Chelsea Rosiek and Lindsey Colferai, for recognizing my potential and then continuing to challenge and develop my game. None of this would be possible if it wasn’t for Michele DeJuliis. I can’t begin to show my appreciation for all her time, effort and patience throughout the recruiting process with my family and me.

“Lastly, I would like to thank my family for their years of support, from commuting over an hour each way to Ultimate practices, to providing emotional and financial support to realize my dreams.”

Other schools considered: Loyola, Penn State, Duke, Northwestern, Temple, Rutgers, Connecticut
