Why did you choose Georgetown? “I chose Georgetown because it was the one school that I couldn’t stop thinking about. Everything felt right and I knew it was where I belong. I wanted to attend a school that was just as competitive athletically as it was academically and Georgetown was perfect. It’s such an honor to be receiving a Georgetown education and a competitive athletic experience. I love the team, campus and coaching staff and I’m so thankful to be given such an amazing opportunity.”
What is your outlook for your HS team? “I’m really looking forward to next season. We’re only graduating two seniors this year so I’m optimistic about the transition into next year, even without two of our four captains. Our league has been very competitive so I’m definitely looking forward to some new challenges in 2014.
“We’ve had some tough losses and great wins this season and I know we’re going to keep pushing ourselves in playoffs no matter what the outcome. I’m really lucky to play with a group of girls that’s willing to work hard to achieve their goals and I’m positive we’ll be taking our hard work with us as we finish out our season and look forward to next year.”
Additional Comments: “I’d like to thank my parents for supporting me throughout the process and being by my side as I traveled the country finding the perfect fit. My sister Tori has also been through the process and I’m extremely grateful for all her encouragement, wisdom and guidance while I was making my decision.
“I’d also like to thank Bekah Hershey for being such a great role model and a supportive friend. I’m unbelievably blessed to have so many coaches, teammates and mentors a part of my career thus far that have made me into the player I am today.
“I’d like to thank Nicole Bauer for supporting and believing in me as freshman and Kelly Kelly (current High School coach) for always having my back in and out of school lacrosse. I would also like to thank Nancy Offner and Sherry Russell for coaching me the majority of my career, introducing me to club lacrosse and always encouraging me to take my game to the next level. Karen Bergman is so amazing for constantly keeping me healthy and on the field as well as giving me recruiting guidance. My former club coach Jaime Connahan kept in touch throughout the process as well and I can’t thank her enough for introducing my family and me to Ultimate.
“My career with Ultimate has been absolutely amazing and my coaches have been incredible. Chelsea Rosiek and Lindsey Colferai (club coaches) are always there to push my limits and they taught me how to become a better player and person in such a short amount of time. My teammates are awesome and I’m so lucky to be surrounded and supported by such incredible athletes that truly want the best for each other.
“Lastly, I cannot thank Michele DeJuliis enough for putting so much time, effort and patience into recruiting me. She was always so reliable and I’m extremely grateful to have had her to talk me through the process.”
